幼少の頃から沖縄の大自然に囲まれて育つ。漁師の祖父の影響で物心がつく前から海に飛び込み、アスリートの父の影響でSUPを始めた時期は記憶に無いほど、”海”は彼にとって欠かせないフィールド。将来はオリンピックで金メダルという夢を描きながら父の背中を追いかける。趣味は読書。得意な科目は図工と体育。小中一貫校、緑風学園時代には持久走大会では1年生から最終学年まで9連覇、小中最大の目標を達成し読書数は2000冊を越えた。高校進学しプロの道を歩き始める。Shuri grew up surrounded by the great nature of Okinawa. He jumped into the ocean before he could remember because of his fisherman grandfather, and the time when he started SUP under the influence of his athlete father is an indispensable field for him. He paints his dream of a gold medal at the Olympics. His hobby is reading. His favorite subjects are arts and crafts and physical education. During his time at Ryokufu Gakuen, an integrated elementary and junior high school, he won nine straight victories in endurance races from the first year to the final year, achieving the biggest goal in elementary and middle school, and the number of books he had read exceeded 2,000. He started high school and professional career.

みなさん、こんにちは。荒木珠里です。今月SUPブランド「 Flying Fish Board Co. 」と正式にスポンサー契約をしました。ボードメーカーと契約するのは生まれて初めてのことです。

FlyingFish社とプロライダー契約を締結する事を決めた理由は、品質と性能に惹かれたからです。FlyingFish社はとても仲が良いブラジルのEriが乗っているSUPレースボードに特化したメーカーです。本社工場はアメリカフロリダ州にあります。僕とお父さんは数年前からこの会社に興味がありました。Eriを通してJohn（シェイパー兼社長）と知り合い、今年に入ってから本格的なテストが始まりました。そのテストの初日、すぐこのボードが他とは全く違うということを感じました。世の中にある9割以上のSUPレースボードメーカーは、東南アジアの工場で大量生産されていて時間と製造コストを究極に削減しながらモノつくりが行われています。しかしこのFlyingFish社は、一本一本職人が時間と愛情を込めて手作りする、とても希少価値が高いカスタムボードの会社です。僕は「手作り」はものづくりの根本で、愛情を込めた製品はとても素晴らしいと尊敬しています。畑で育てる無農薬野菜や、山からの湧き水で生活する僕たち一家が大事にしている気持ちと同じです。15才から海外を周るようになって今年で3年目になりますが、お父さんは大会会場で見るたびに「FlyingFishは何か進み方が違う。」と常々口にしていました。
僕は実際に試乗した瞬間に違いを実感したのですが、改めてお父さんの分析力に驚きました。SUPレースを経験される方でしたらFlyingFishのボードに手を触れたり、持ち上げるだけで質感の違いを一瞬で感じると思います。実際に漕げば優しい乗り心地と、軽いスピード感に感動します。僕自身も初めての感覚で正直驚きました。

Hello everyone. This is Shrimpy. We have new news for you all. This month we officially signed a sponsorship contract with the SUP brand " Flying Fish Board Co. " This is the first time in my life that I have signed a contract with a board manufacturer. The reason I decided to sign a professional rider contract with FlyingFish was because I was attracted to their quality and performance. FlyingFish is a manufacturer that specializes in SUP race boards, which are ridden by my very good friend Eri from Brazil. The head office factory is located in Florida, USA.

My father and I have been interested in this company for several years. I met John (shaper and president) through Eri, and the real test began this year. On the first day of testing, I immediately felt that this board was completely different. More than 90% of SUP race boards in the world are manufactured using mass production to reduce costs and time. However, FlyingFish is a brand with high rarity and value, each board is made by hand crafted with time and love, and I sincerely respect that as a wonderful thing. You can feel a big difference in quality just by picking it up, and if you actually paddle it, you'll be impressed by its gentle and light speed. (I'm the one who was surprised, so I'm pretty confident.😊)

そして、なんと僕とお父さんのアイディアが詰め込まれたシグネーチャーモデル「Freedom Shrimpy Pro」が来月新登場することが決まりました。4月からの海外ツアー戦で僕が使って世界トップレベルで競うと同時に、一般発売もはじまります。僕は実戦でその性能を証明できると思うとワクワクが止まりません。
僕は5歳でSUPをはじめて12年が経ちました。はじめた当時は今のように子供用のレースボードは無くて、大人用の中古品を使うしか選択肢が無い時代でした。お父さんは僕のために関節に負担が少ないカスタムボードを海外で作って輸入してくれました。それは当時の僕の身長と体重に合わせて特別に注文したものでした。空気型のインフレータブル、そしてカーボンファイバー製のハードボードを合わせた数は20本を越えました。そして僕とお父さんは体が小さい日本人でも巨大なパワーを持つ欧米人に負けない、しなやかで効率的で、そして力強い漕ぎのスタイルを研究してきて、そして今の漕ぎのスタイルが完成しました。
And by leveraging our R&D experience, FlyingFish will be releasing my signature model "Freedom Shrimpy Pro" next month. I can't help but be excited to compete with world-class paddlers from around the world and prove this board's performance.
It's been 12 years since I started SUP when I was 5 years old. When I started, there were no race boards for children like there are today, and the only option was to use ready-made products for adults, but since I was a child, my father has been asking various overseas manufacturers to do as much as he can. He personally imported a custom board that suited my physique and put less strain on my body and joints. The total number of inflatables and carbon fiber hardboards exceeded 20. My father and I have been researching a paddling style that is supple, efficient, and powerful so that even though I am a small child, I can compete with an adult with enormous power, and I have perfected my current paddling style.(I was 13 when I started racing against adults.)

これまで使ってきたボードが悪かったということでは決してありません。それぞれが本当に素晴らしい性能で、そのおかげで世界選手権2連覇2冠を達成することができました。前にも書きましたが僕たちは全てのボードを自費購入して、アメリカ、ヨーロッパ、そして日本とそれぞれの大陸で同じボードを保管しながら使ってきたので大変な苦労をしました。これまで関わって頂いた各ボードメーカーの皆さんからも少しづつ頑張りを認めてもらい、割引いてもらうこともありました。ご協力いただいた各メーカーの皆さん本当に有難うございました。

この春から高校三年、最終学年になります。美しい自然に囲まれて暮らし、父と海に出る毎日のライフスタイルの中で培ってきた「海の感覚」を、ボードデザインに活かし、シグネチャーモデルを創っていきたいです。美しく、速く、そして愛情を込めて作られるカスタムボードの素晴らしさを多くの人に伝えられたら嬉しいです。

That's not to say that the boards I've used so far haven't been good. Each of them had truly amazing performances, and thanks to them we were able to achieve two consecutive World Championship titles. As I mentioned before, we purchased all the boards ourselves and have used them in the United States, Europe, and Japan, storing the same boards on each continent. I think my father suffered far more than I could have imagined. Little by little, the board manufacturers we have been involved with have acknowledged our efforts and cooperated by giving us discounts. Thank you very much everyone. This year will also be my third and final year in high school. I live surrounded by beautiful nature and go to the ocean every day with my father, which gives me the feeling of the ocean. I would like to use it in board design.

I would like to utilize that feeling in my board design and create my signature model. I would be happy if I could convey to many people the wonders of custom boards that are beautiful, fast, and made with love.

There is also one more report. Starting this spring, we will have a new sponsorship contract with Ikezawa Children's Clinic, a medical corporation in Kumamoto Prefecture. As you can see from the website, the hospital is surrounded by greenery and has a very peaceful atmosphere that both children and adults would want to visit again. I look forward to having the opportunity to do so. I am very happy and proud to have new supporters in Kumamoto, my second hometown and where my ancestors are buried.

この冬はじっくりと厳しい海で合宿を繰り返しトレーニングと同時に新しいボードのR&Dもしっかり積み重ねることができました。春にはまた一つ確実にレベルアップした姿をお見せできると思います。確かに僕は世界選手権を連覇しましたが、これからもチャンピオンとしてでは無く、常にチャレンジャーの姿勢で頑張ります。いよいよ来月からシーズンが始まります。今年から4年生の妹も遠征に同行し海外経験を本格的に積みはじめます。6月には沖縄から与論までの30km海峡縦断レース「O2Y」を僕たち一家で主催し、海外からも選手たちがやってきます。7月ハワイ・モロカイ島からオアフ島まで約60kmの海を渡る「M2O」は今年からなんとAPPワールドツアーの開幕戦になるという連絡が入りました。幼い頃から憧れてきたAPPワールドツアーでも今年は総合優勝を狙います。工夫と失敗を繰り返しながら、常に家族力で新しい時代の扉を開けていきます。

This winter, I went through a long and tough training camp, and at the same time I did a lot of R&D on new boards, so I think I'll be able to show you the next level in the spring. It is true that I have won the world championship consecutively, but I will continue to always my best, not as a champion, but as a challenger. The season finally starts next month. Starting this year, my younger sister, who is 10 years old, will also accompany us and train overseas. In June, my family and I will be hosting the 30km race across the straits from Okinawa to Yoron called “O2Y”, and athletes will come from overseas as well. "M2O", which crosses approximately 60km of ocean from Molokai to Oahu (Hawaii) in July, is the opening round of the APP World Tour starting this year, and I can't help but get excited. Through repeated efforts and failures, we will use our family strength to open the door to a new era.  keep paddling.®︎
